SACA Women were back in action again today, taking on The Blaze, at Lady Bay Sports ground in Nottingham, in two back-to-back T20 encounters.

It turned out to be a tough day for the SACA Women’s side, formed only earlier this year, who came out on the wrong end of both results, although there were plenty of notable individual performances to celebrate.

GAME ONE MATCH REPORT

Batting first, The Blaze had opener Aldred to thank for posting a target that SACA found too big an ask, as her top score of 41, off 35 balls, set her side up for a total of 159 for 7 in their 20 overs.

She received great support from Cammack (33 off 28) and Williams (29 off 22), who played their part in setting a commanding total for SACA to chase.

Wickets were shared around among the SACA bowlers, with Kashish Choudhary, Amarah Imran, Anusha Chauhan, Nayma Sheikh and Rhia Sedha each picking up a wicket apiece, with the other two dismissals coming by way of run outs.

In reply, Maryam Faisal’s knock of 67 off just 48 balls, in an innings that saw her hit ten boundaries and two maximums, was the highlight of an otherwise disappointing run chase for the SACA players.

Without any of her partners going with her, the knock proved to be in vain, as SACA managed to hit 132 in reply, for the loss of 6 wickets, with The Blaze coming out on top by virtue of a 27-run victory.

GAME TWO MATCH REPORT

SACA put the early loss of both openers behind them in game two, as both Riva Pindoria and Faisal missed out with single figure scores, before Fiza Asif Iqbal (47* off 44) and Amarah Imran (37 off 42) mounted a recovery for SACA early in the innings.

Some tight bowling from The Blaze attack made free flowing run scoring tricky however, as SACA Women were restricted to posting just 125 for 3 in their 20 overs.

In reply, The Blaze made light work of the run chase, as unbeaten half-centuries from Claridge (51*) and Groves (56*) took them to their victory target inside 13 overs to seal an eight wicket victory.

SACA will take the positives from today into their next encounter, when they take on Durham in a fifty-over contest the week after next.
