SACA DEVELOPS BSA MALE CRICKETERS AGED 18+ THROUGH:

1. DEVELOPMENT

  • Building a number of squads of the best BSA talent aged 18+.

  • Offering suitable candidates bursaries.

  • Delivering an evidence-based skill development programme which applies PhD research.

  • Implementing a high-quality individualised S&C and dietary programmes, considering cultural differences.

2. CULTURE

  • Applying a Cultural Praxis Model to its policy making. 

  • Researching the most effective methods to adopt a collectivist approach within the performance environment. 

  • Continually evaluating the effectiveness of the research methods implemented into the performance environment.

3. OPPORTUNITY

  • Playing fixtures against County Second XI, National Counties and other high-profile teams for players to showcase their skills.

  • Invite Directors of Cricket and county coaches to observe both games and training sessions, giving players the best opportunity to be signed to a professional county. 

  • Place players within high-standard local league cricket, amongst professional cricketers.

SACA DEVELOPS BSA MALE & FEMALE COACHES THROUGH:

1. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ensuring all coaches hired by SACA have the means to achieve a minimum of an ECB level 3 coaching award.

  • Support head coach in achieving a Level 4 (financial and application).

  • Support local coaches in their applications to ECB qualifications.

2. CONNECTIONS

  • Providing opportunities for coaches to network within the professional cricket structure.

  • Actively encouraging and inviting guest coaches to share their experiences with SACA coaches and vice versa.

3. EXPERIENCE

  • Providing coaches with the experience of working at the professional level/ with future professional players.  

  • Hosting regular seminars to discuss the findings of systematic reviews in talent ID and development, and how this can be best implemented into future talent development programmes.
