SACA COACHES RELISH OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH SUNRISERS LEEDS

This week, two of SACA’s coaching staff enjoyed the opportunity to work with the Sunrisers Leeds squad, as they prepared for tomorrow’s crucial Hundred clash against Birmingham Phoenix at Edgbaston.

The opportunity arose thanks to Kadeer Ali, Phoenix’s Assistant Coach, who invited both Adeel Shafeeq and Shozair Ali from the SACA coaching group into the Sunrisers' coaching environment to experience life as a coach inside the world of Hundred franchise cricket.

The pair were fortunate enough to spend the day working with both the Sunrisers' playing group and coaching staff at one of the franchise's training sessions.

Shafeeq, who earlier this year was announced as SACA’s Second Eleven Head Coach, commented:

“Kadeer Ali invited myself and Shozair to come down to their Sunrisers Leeds training session. 

“It was a great experience to be around the franchise circuit. Seeing the very best players go about their business and just to be around a world-class set up was amazing.

“Massive thank you to Kadeer for inviting us, and as always, thank you to Tom Brown for giving us the platform at SACA to go out and express ourselves as coaches.”

Shozair Ali also commented:

“A big thank you to Kadeer Ali who contacted me in regards to this opportunity.

“It was a great experience, not only flicking & throwing, but learning as a coach and developing my own knowledge of the game on how some of the best players across the world go about their game.

“The whole team, from players to coaching staff, were amazing,  making us feel very welcome.”
