SACA COACH MARK ROBINSON RETURNS TO SUSSEX AS DIRECTOR OF CRICKET
Today, SACA Coach Mark Robinson, was named as Sussex County Cricket Club’s new Director of Cricket, with the vastly experienced Yorkshireman returning to the county he both played for and led to the County Championship title twice as Head Coach in the noughties.
Robinson will take on his new role at Sussex on a part time basis, enabling him to continue in his existing role as Director of Cricket at the Brighton Aldridge Community Academy - Sussex’s official state school partner.
He will however end his association with SACA, having first teamed up with the Academy after leaving Warwickshire in February 2025 and he has played a pivotal role in helping to develop countless SACA players since.
He leaves SACA having made a huge impact on all those around him, with players and coaches alike benefitting enormously from both his experience and fantastic knowledge of the game.

Tom Brown, Founder and MD of SACA commented:
“In early 2025 when Robbo joined us, it was a real pinch me moment!
“How many times do you get the opportunity to work with a World Cup winning and multiple County Championship winning Head Coach, with a pedigree as impressive as Robbo’s?
“He has been nothing short of exceptional in all the time he has been with us and he leaves us with our most sincere thanks for all he has done for SACA.
“We are of course gutted to see him leaving, as his presence around the Academy is vast, however we wish him every success in his new role at Sussex, with him joining at a really exciting period of change for everyone at Hove.
“He knows he will always be welcomed back to SACA with open arms and will be missed by all of us at the Academy.”
