SHAFTAB KHALID
ASSISTANT COACH & SPIN BOWLING COACH
As a right arm off-spinner in the Worcestershire CCC ranks, Shaftab was selected onto the ECB National Academy squad for the 2003/04 winter. He then went on to make his Worcestershire CCC first-team debut in the 2003 season in both red and white ball cricket.

His first-class debut came against Oxford University, followed by his appearance in limited-overs cricket when he faced the touring South Africans at New Road and claimed the wicket of captain Graeme Smith! His performances with the ball saw him then selected to represent England A.
Since retiring from professional cricket, Shaftab pursued his coaching journey, becoming an ECB Level 3 Performance Coach in 2019. He was the former lead performance coach for Bedfordshire CCC and Huntingdonshire CCC, before returning to Worcestershire CCC as their spin coach in 2021.
